The Zift management team has a proven track record in the high tech industry, with particular experience in marketing automation, online marketing optimization, and sales channel management. The Zift team takes a strong hands-on approach to developing solutions that support channel success by understanding the practical realities of marketing in a channel sales environment.

Ken Romley — President and CEO

Ken Romley has co-founded and run a wide range of technology and internet-based enterprises over the last two decades. Most recently, as President of SmartPath, Romley helped to establish Enterprise Marketing Management solutions as an important technology for improving marketing effectiveness. He continued to lead innovations in marketing technologies after SmartPath's acquisition by DoubleClick's EMS (Enterprise Marketing Solutions) business unit, a leading provider of digital advertising technology and services. The unit was subsequently acquired by Aprimo. Romley has a BS in Operations Research and an MS in Computer Science from Cornell University.

Bryan Ferren — COO

Bryan Ferren has held positions in areas of business operation, sales, and international business development. Prior to joining Zift, he served as Managing Director of EMEA for SmartPath and continued in that role after SmartPath's acquisition by DoubleClick's EMS business unit. When Aprimo acquired DoubleClick's EMS unit, Ferren served as VP of International Sales. Then, as VP of Corporate Accounts at Aprimo, he was responsible for the company's largest strategic accounts, including Intel, Target, CitiGroup, and Nestle. Prior to SmartPath, he was President and CEO of MicroMass Communications. Bryan holds a BA in Political Science and a minor in Accounting from North Carolina State University.

Scott England — Vice President of Business Development

Scott England leads Zift's expansion into new vertical markets, while deepening the focus within its core customer base. Prior to his current role, England served as VP of Sales for First Research through its acquisition by Dun & Bradstreet. Before First Research, he was Director of North American Sales for DoubleClick's EMS unit. England holds a BS in Business Management and Information Systems with a minor in Law from Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania.

Lionel Farr — Vice President of Technology

Lionel Farr is responsible for the development of all Zift technologies, products, and services. Before Zift, at DoubleClick, he played a key role in a major product redesign to ensure quality and scalability for such online giants as eBay, AOL, and Orbitz.

Andy Wilson — Vice President of Client Services

Andy Wilson oversees client services and customer support, ensuring that Zift's solutions are quickly and easily leveraged to provide significant ROI in any of a variety of environments. Prior to joining Zift, Wilson had similar responsibilities at DoubleClick, where he managed teams that provided support for enterprise marketing product lines.

Jason Caplain

Jason Caplain is general partner of Southern Capitol Ventures, which provides capital and strategic guidance to technology companies across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. He co-founded Southern Capitol Ventures after spending two years at Red Hat, the world's premier open source and Linux provider. There, he directed the company's global budgeting process, provided financial analysis for the successful IPO in August 1999 and performed due diligence on many of the company's acquisitions. Prior to Red Hat, Caplain was at Harrison Hurley and Company, an investment banking and business-consulting firm headquartered in Providence, RI. He also serves on the board of ReverbNation and is a board observer for both eTix and DoublePositive Marketing Group. Caplain received his BS in Finance from Bentley College.

Joe Velk

Joe Velk is a private investor with 25 years of investment and company-building experience. He currently manages Contender Capital, LLC and is a board member or advisor to several private companies. He was previously a partner at The North Carolina Enterprise Fund and Intersouth Partners where he focused on information technology companies. He holds a BSEE from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Duke University.
